ZTL Rates and Regulations

Rates vary depending on the season and the payment method (online or on site). For online reservations, access the reserved area on the website of the Municipality of San Gimignano. Starting from 01/07/2026, cash will no longer be accepted. Payment at the Check-Point can only be made with POS or credit card.

Check Point Tourist Bus Service

The Check Point is located a short walk from the city center. Local public transport lines are available to reach the historic center.

Connections with the Historic Center

• Public Transport Lines: SG1 (all year) and SG2 (April - October).
• Ticket Purchase: Tickets can be purchased on board the vehicles or directly at the Check Point. In the months of July and August, transport lines do not pass through the historic center; useful stops are Porta San Giovanni and Porta San Matteo.

Access and Payment Procedures

Online booking procedure

1. Access the Check-Point reserved area on the website of the Municipality of San Gimignano:
   • https://www.comune.sangimignano.si.it. Then Section “Tourist Bus Check‑Point” Or directly via this link: https://www.comune.sangimignano.si.it/check-point
2. Check if your company and buses are already registered. If not, register and enter the vehicle data (length, license plate, registration data).
3. Choose arrival date and payment method.
4. At the end of the operation the following is automatically generated:
   • Payment receipt (downloadable from your reserved area)
   • Ticket to be printed and displayed on the dashboard upon arrival

Note: Companies without a reservation will have to provide the bus registration document and company data to issue the permit.

Changes to Booking

• Any changes (bus license plate, arrival date) must be communicated via email to the Check Point Tourist Bus Service.

Concessions and Discounts

Discounts

• 50% discount for school trips (November - May).
• 100% discount for groups of disabled people.

How ​​to Request Concessions

• Requests must be submitted at least 4 working days in advance via the reserved area or via email, attaching the necessary documentation.
• The request is finalized only with acceptance sent via email by Check Point Service.

Note: Failure to use the discount will be considered a waiver. The competent authorities may carry out random checks on the documentation submitted.
