1) ZTL regulations for tourist buses

Tourist buses cannot access the restricted traffic zone in the historic center of Carrara (located at the intersection between via Santa Maria and via Loris Giorgi). Access is only allowed to minibuses the size of an ambulance, but it is not necessary to enter the restricted traffic zone to visit the historic center.

2) Day pass

Rates:

• Full: 100 Euros
• Reduced: 50 Euros

Conditions for reduced rate:

• School groups: groups from schools
• Groups with reservations at city museums: with copy of the booking voucher
• Groups with reservations at accommodation facilities in Carrara or local restaurants: with copy of the reservation
• Coach with less than 40 passengers: for small groups

Carnets available (with login/registration):

• Carnet 10 Pass: 10% reduction
• Carnet 20 Pass: 20% reduction
• Carnet 30 Pass: 30% reduction

3) Parking

Tourist buses can stop in:

• Piazza Sacco e Vanzetti (in front of the hospital): parking in the designated stalls with the obligation to specify your choice via email
• Via Monterosso (above Piazza Gramsci): dedicated stalls already in the historic centre
• Piazza Matteotti (in front of Esselunga): only temporary stop to let tourists off, NO PARKING
• San Martino parking in Piazza Lodovici Cesare Vico: for drivers after dropping off passengers
• Marina di Carrara: there are no stalls, usually parking in via Firenze - Campo dei Pini area

4) Prohibitions

General prohibitions for tourist buses (except if equipped with a pass):

• Viale XX Settembre upstream from Piazza Vittorio Veneto
• Via Nuova Provinciale di Nazzano upstream from Via Frassina
• Via Provinciale Carrara Avenza upstream from Viale Turigliano
• Via Ilice above Viale Turigliano
• Via San Francesco in the Castelpoggio section

Prohibitions for buses over 10.50 meters:

• Via Carriona (tract from Via Torano to Via Apuana)
• Via Cavour, Via Buonarroti
• Via M. D'Azeglio (from via Roma to via VII Luglio)
• Via P. Tacca (eastern section of via del Cavatore)
• Via Erevan (except heading to Bergiola Foscalina with authorization)
• Via Aronte, Via G. Mazzini, Via Meucci, Via dei Campi, Via Torano Piastra
